Business marketing has been around for a long time and there
are a lot of people who are intimidated by the Internet, much less trying to make money on it.

The difference between you and the other guy is your being here and wanting to learn instead of wishing and wanting and not going anywhere with your business.
     
Anyone can have the greatest idea in the world and not knowing how to advertise does nothing if the traffic never gets to your site to see or buy products.

The points listed below serve as proof that advertising paid or otherwise makes a big difference. When it comes to business, sales and even a customer base is needed to make it work.

How to increase sales
There are two main types of Internet sales, paid and free. Paid traffic deals with PPC, CPC and PPV just to name a few. AdWords.Google.com does a good job of explaining and teaching someone wanting to get into paid traffic.

If you have the finances to do paid advertising there are companies that can help you every step of the way for a price. I don’t have deep pockets so I needed to learn the free marketing aspect of it.
 Free traffic on the other hand is where I suggest most people start. Anything you advertise for free must start with proper keywords (I suggest starting with long tail keywords). Internet Advertising for instance, is a short tail keyword. Long tail keywords are basically more words like Internet Advertising for Small Businesses.
 
Don’t forget to research your product. Just because you love it doesn’t mean everyone else will.

What is marketing strategy?
Not knowing where to start can be a big problem for you. I know I was there for a time also. It does not have to be so terrible. All you have to do is find your product (preferably something that everyone else also likes) and add this product to a website or blog and market it.

     Research your product for sale ability

     Become an affiliate/find hosting for your digital product

     Create a website or blog to host your ads

     Creating keyword rich articles for your site

     Buy or create content for advertising (with proper keywords)

     Free advertising with social media – Twitter, Facebook, YouTube Etc.…
    
This is only a starter list so feel free to add to it. There are more than 40 social networks to choose from. Hootesuite.com is a dashboard tool to help manage your social media when you have too many to handle. There are other dashboards out there so take your pick.

How to advertise for free
Above I mentioned Hootesuite.com. This dashboard you can set up to handle up to 3  social media accounts for free and you can upgrade to add more. Twitter, Facebook, Stumble upon and Dig are just some of the many social sites and they are all fairly simple to join.
YouTube I singled out because it is the fastest growing media on the Internet. Anyone can use their cell phone and make a 5 minute video about their product then upload it to their channel with a link to their site.
There are also article sites where people can write keyword rich articles and submit to Ezinearticles.com has the highest page rank and I have submitted articles here. Learn what a page rank is and avoid the low ranking sites. Also avoid submitting copied or spun articles anywhere, they will catch it and De-rank your site and or article for it.

How to get traffic to your website
I have talked about different types of social media and traffic, now let’s get into websites. Like blogging you also need good content.
Articles and videos are good ways to advertise your products and get them viewed by customers. It does not matter if the product belongs to you or an affiliate; you still need social media to give reviews about the products you sell. I like blogging myself. When you have a new product to sell, give an honest opinion of it and maybe an alternative for the viewer to have a choice.
There are also free classified sites all over the Internet. When you publish a review about a product you can publish tidbits on not only classified sites but on social media sites as well to get people to come read what you have to say.A lot of people tend to use a blog for their reviews depending on the product or style of the advertiser.


How to get traffic to your website
Research your product. Just because you think it’s the best thing since blue cheese does not mean anyone else will like it at all. Do product research; find out if anyone else is selling it. Look for websites listing the latest trends all over the Internet.
Take good clear pictures from several sides because out of focus or blurry pictures will drive prospective customers to another site to buy. Look for forums and blogs that talk about the type of products you sell and get feedback.
Like I said before, post a summary of your review on social media sites to get people to come and read your reviews and possibly buy. Rome wasn’t built in a day and you can’t an omelet without breaking a few eggs. Remember, the proper keywords will work wonders in advertising.

Marketing ideas for small businesses
Most people forget about Internet marketing for local businesses also. There is no end to the places you can advertise. From E-zine article sites to social media and even free classified sites on the Internet.When you have a new product to launch, send out a press release.

Post it on your site first then a few days later on a site like prweb.com or something like it. Advertise offline for your website anywhere you see a free bulletin board like grocery stores and laundry mats. As well as advertising online for your brick and mortar business and there are too many to list but start with Yahoo and Google. They both have a local section you can advertise. 

Places like Craigslist.com and Backpage.com cater to local businesses are also a good place to advertise.
 
I cannot repeat this enough, any advertising you do needs to have proper long tail keywords to work. It took me a long time to understand this and unless you have money to pay someone else I suggest you learn about keywords first. This alone will save you a lot of headaches.


Ways to advertise your business
Creating articles and videos are among the best sources of information on the Internet today. No matter what product you have to advertise, articles and videos will play a major role in your business needs.
 Before you start though you need to find proper long tail keywords in your advertising to help get listed on the front pages of Google, Bing and the other search engines.
As with any advertising you should send out messages review tidbits and anything else you think of at least one or two times a week with something new. Not necessarily new products just something fresh.
E-mail marketing, this is your bread and butter. Always offer people a chance to sign up for a weekly or monthly newsletter to keep them up on what you have going on. You can and should send E-mail
offers every 3rd or 4th correspondence.

This is how the big boys on the Internet make their money. Anyone can write and complain that Google kicked them off for one reason or another but the money is in the E-mail list. When you have 100,000 people following you Google can’t stop an E-mail so guess who is laughing all the way to the bank?

Creative marketing concepts
Most people from time to time have creative blocking issues when just starting out. Don’t fret. Whatever your niche might be, there are forums, blogs and articles all over the Internet to help inspire you in your endeavor.
 Just remember we don’t judge ourselves by our failures but how many times we got up and did it again to succeed.

Always keep your articles simple to read. Some people have issues
with reading and others may not have the time to read a scientific
paper. Questionnaires, bullet points and tips are always a good place to start.
